The Inevitable Storm

January 4, 2007 from Payson, Utah

For a long time I knew I was going to be driving through Utah during the middle of winter. That means lots of snow, big storms, just like home in Michigan. I was ready for it, anticipating it, and it came along tonight. Oh well, it happens, I'm crashing at a hotel for the night. In only about 10 miles or less I believe I counted 7 or 8 cars in the ditch, two that were rollovers. With all the traffic and not even to the worst part of the storm yet, I figured I would be wise and cautious. I'm in Payson, about 90 miles south of Ogden, Utah which is where I was hoping to get tonight. But it won't change any plans. And I can relax, relax, relax! I don't have to answer to anyone tonight. I'll catch up on a few things as well. There is one other problem with the snow, it creates a huge desire to go snowboarding. I won't let myself leave this region without a little riding. So now I can lay back and watch some Michigan State basketball. Go green!
