You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago.

The Last Compass Photo

The Last Compass Photo

Auburn Hills, Michigan

Here it is, the last ever photo taken of the Invasion Mobile. I took hundreds of these across the country, but never had I needed to take whlie one driving away. I didn’t notice until after that it said ‘visitor’ when I took this photo, but I suppose that’s what I was for a year. But what a good year it was.

This was the last time I ever saw the car, this was it. My home for a year, gone. It was a weird drive back to East Lansing and it has been weird to drive different vehicles since this one. I would go to open the sunroof and the button isn’t there, go to turn up the volume and it’s different, or go to shift the car I was driving and the shifter wasn’t there.

The Compass was fantastic, how incredible for that year.
