This wooden spiral staircase is beautiful! It was made by Lee himself (the wood came from his own farm, he even curved the wood himself). It's an marvelous and unique feature that I have NEVER seen before. I have seen two spiral wooden staircases in my life, this one, and the house they lived in before moving in hee! Ha!
Once again, custom made, and it's a root system from a tree that spans about 18 feet across the teepee. All along the roots hang vintage lanterns that are fixed with regular lightbulbs. It adds an incredibly unique and rustic feel to a very modernly designed home.

Teepee House: Living Room

This photo does not do much justic (everyone out there I need a wide-angled lens, Christmas is just around the corner). These windows, like many other features in the house, had to be customly fitted and installed. The living room is a 30-foot high teepee, so all of the walls are slanted. Even something as simple as a shelf has to be custom designed to fit the angle.
If Lee didn't make the details himself, it come from family. This was done by his daughter as well as the stained glass at the top of the teepees. It's incredible, there just aren't many homes with stained glass windows.
There's no question about it, this is the coolest house of the trip. This was built entirely by one person with the help of my grandma and a couple others, that person, Lee, is 76 years old. This was his dream, just like the Hometown Invasion Tour was my dream. He thought it up and lived it out. It's an incredible home, and much more incredible knowing he built it all. I took hundreds of these across the country, but never had I needed to take whlie one driving away. I didn't notice until after that it said 'visitor' when I took this photo, but I suppose that's what I was for a year. But what a good year it was.

This was the last time I ever saw the car, this was it. My home for a year, gone. It was a weird drive back to East Lansing and it has been weird to drive different vehicles since this one. I would go to open the sunroof and the button isn't there, go to turn up the volume and it's different, or go to shift the car I was driving and the shifter wasn't there.

The Compass was fantastic, how incredible for that year.
